Inventory of a tenement house in Wrocław’s old town – technology meets history (and dwarves)
In the very heart of Wrocław, in the vibrant old town, we made a detailed inventory of one of the historic tenement houses. Using a 3D laser scanner, we created a precise point cloud, which allowed us to develop a digital model of the building – preserving even the smallest architectural details.
The aim of the inventory was to prepare a complete technical documentation in digital form to support future renovation work and conservation efforts. 3D documentation is also an important part of cultural heritage preservation – enabling the condition of the building to be archived and analysed at any time.
However, the work was not without surprises – during the work we came across Wrocław’s dwarves, who, as always, vigilantly guarded the nooks and crannies of their tenement. Some of them even allowed themselves to be captured during the scanning – apparently one of them tried to take control of our equipment!
